  • Hardware Engineer (Senior)

    We are looking for a hands-on Senior Hardware Engineer to play a key role in the development, bring-up and validation of advanced image sensor platforms. This position requires strong practical engineering skills, the ability to independently debug complex systems, and a passion for working in a lab-oriented R&D environment. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the bring-up and validation of hardware platforms used for image sensor testing. • Perform advanced hardware debugging and root-cause analysis using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and source measure units (SMUs). • Develop Python-based automation tools for test execution, data acquisition, and analysis. • Design, review, and troubleshoot schematics and PCB layouts involving high-speed digital and analog circuitry. • Design and validate power delivery, monitoring, and signal-conditioning circuits for complex hardware systems. • Support FPGA-based development by understanding, modifying, and debugging VHDL code used for hardware control, data acquisition, and system integration. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including image sensor design, validation, and software engineering groups.

    Position Qualifications

    Position Qualifications: • Extensive experience as a senior hardware engineer, with a strong track record of hands-on system bring-up and debugging. • Expertise in hardware troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and validation of complex electronic systems. • Solid experience in high-speed digital PCB design, including signal integrity, impedance control, and interface validation. • Good understanding of analog circuit design, including power supply architecture, sequencing, monitoring, and measurement circuitry. • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools; experience with Altium Designer is preferred. • Practical experience developing and troubleshooting FPGA designs in VHDL, including simulation, implementation, and on-board debugging. Prior experience with AMD (Xilinx) FPGAs (Vivado toolchain, on-chip debug) is a strong plus. • Strong Python scripting skills for test automation and laboratory equipment control. • Direct experience in image sensor environments, including bring-up, validation, and characterization workflows is a strong plus. • Experience with image sensor bring-up, validation, and characterization workflows is a plus. • Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex hardware validation campaigns. • Familiarity with wafer probers, probe cards, and IC test systems is desirable.<

  • Digital Backend Engineer

    We are looking for a Digital Backend Engineer to drive and execute the physical implementation of complex digital modules for advanced CMOS image sensors. Key responsibilities: • Execute the complete digital backend flow from RTL to GDS, including synthesis, floorplanning, power planning, place & route, clock tree synthesis (CTS), static timing analysis (STA) and logic equivalence checking (LEC). • Provide innovative solutions to reach product targets and drive performance, power and area optimizations. • Develop, maintain and enhance backend methodologies, flows and automation scripts. • Collaborate closely with the analog team and the digital design and verification engineers to resolve implementation challenges and successfully complete the project. • Write clear and comprehensive technical documentation. • Participate in design/architecture reviews and risk assessments from a physical implementation perspective. • Provide training and guidance to other team members. • Work closely with foundries and EDA vendors to integrate new technologies, improve methodologies and resolve issues.

    In this function, you will work in the validation team which consists of hardware, software and validation engineers. You will collaborate closely with a strong design team that has vast experience in image sensor IC design. Our design team works on various off-the-shelf and custom high-end CMOS image sensor projects, always on the forefront of image sensor technology. After integrating in the team and getting acquainted with our image sensor technology, you will take on the responsibility of validating our image sensor ICs when first prototype devices become available. Validation includes sensor bring-up, functional validation of sensor features, optimizing the sensor performance in the lab and verifying that the design meets its performance requirements. Before the validation of a sensor starts, you will define the requirements for the validation system, and create the validation plan based on sensor datasheet and specifications. When the work is done you report on the outcome in a clear and concise way. During the validation work, you analyse the measurement data and discuss observed sensor behaviour with the IC design engineers. You are responsible for the creation of the measurement scripts to automate the validation and for the setup and maintenance of a well-equipped validation lab. All validation work is done in close collaboration with the IC design engineers that have designed the sensor. You will also interface with other Gpixel’s departments to discuss input, output and progress of the validation work.
