May 7, 2024, Changchun, China – Gpixel announced today that it was recognized among the best by the 2024 VSD Innovators Awards for the GCINE4349 high dynamic range image sensor with exposure stacking technology. Votes placed by the engineering community recognized Gpixel’s entry with a Silver Award in the image sensor category.

The GCINE4349 was the first in a family of image sensors incorporating advanced technology to achieve the exceptional combination of resolution, dynamic range and frame rate required for recording cinematic quality video. The GCINE product line features Back-Side Illumination (BSI) for high QE and angular response, as well as wafer stacking with exposure summing for HDR modes up to 110 dB (18+ f-stops) and 8k frame rates up to 120 fps. GCINE4349 was developed using a 2-wafer level stacked BSI architecture. The top layer consists of a BSI pixel array with 49M 4.3 um pixels. The bottom digital CMOS layer consists of an array of core cells each including 16-bit ADC blocks and SRAM memory blocks which are used to sum and store up to 4 subsequent sub-frames with seamless exposure, enabling an in-pixel full well charge of up to 120k e-. Since the introduction of the full frame GCINE4349, Gpixel has expanded the family to include the APS-sized GCINE3243 with similar performance and features.
