Changchun, China — March 23, 2026 — Gpixel today announced the GLR1002BSI-S, a next-generation 2K back-side-illuminated (BSI) CMOS line-scan image sensor engineered to raise the bar in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and advanced spectroscopy. Built around the most demanding OCT requirements, GLR1002BSI-S combines high-speed readout up to 250 kHz, exceptional NIR sensitivity with 58% QE at 850 nm, and a rectangular 10 × 200 µm pixel optimized for precise optical alignment. Its modern BSI global-shutter architecture, high full-well capacity, low noise, and true 14 bit output provide a substantial leap in interferometric image quality over traditional FSI line-scan solutions used in OCT today.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive, high-resolution imaging technique widely adopted in ophthalmology and dermatology, and increasingly deployed across industrial inspection tasks such as battery-film measurement, coating-uniformity analysis, and weld-quality assessment. By capturing fine structural detail through interferometric depth sensing, OCT places strict demands on sensor alignment stability, NIR responsivity, and signal integrity. The GLR1002BSI-S meets these requirements with its 2411 × 1 resolution and 10 × 200 µm OCT-optimized rectangular pixel.
To support both high-speed imaging and precision diagnostics, the sensor incorporates an advanced BSI pixel architecture delivering peak QE of 91% at 440 nm and 58% QE at 850 nm, complemented by a 155 ke‾ full-well capacity, low read noise, and true 12 /14 bit output for wide dynamic range and high-contrast fringe reconstruction. High line rates are enabled by Sub-LVDS outputs running at 1.2 GHz with <450 mW power consumption, providing an optimal balance of speed and efficiency for medical and industrial OCT engines. The device is housed in a ceramic CLCC package with a double-sided AR-coated glass lid, featuring a compact 40 mm × 11 mm footprint designed for precise optical alignment and stable mechanical integration.

To accommodate different performance and throughput targets, the GLR1002BSI-S supports three selectable readout modes:
