November 10th 2022, Changchun, China – Gpixel announces the further expansion of the popular C-Mount GMAX sensor family with the GMAX4002, a 1/1.7” format Global Shutter CMOS image sensor for industrial applications. The sensor is designed around a 4 µm charge domain global shutter pixel, provides 2048(H) x 1200(V) resolution (2.4 MP), and supports up to 229 fps over 8 lanes sub-LVDS and 166 fps over 4 lanes MIPI with 10bit output, suitable for USB3 and 5-GigE camera interfaces. The sensor is ideal for a variety of machine vision tasks including industrial bar code scanning, positioning, identification, inspection, and ANPR.
The 4 µm pixel achieves a full well capacity of 12k e-, read noise less than 3 e- and maximum dynamic range of 68.5 dB in 12-bit mode. Advanced pixel design and manufacturing technology provides a peak QE of 72% at 550 nm and over 37% at 850 nm using Gpixel Red Fox NIR enhancement technology, as well as a PLS of -92 dB and excellent angular response. Sensitivity can be increased, and frame rate increased utilizing the sensor’s on-chip, charge-domain 2×2 binning mode.
“With the launch of the GMAX4002, we bring the popular GMAX product line performance to our customer’s cost sensitive and high-volume applications. The sensor’s small footprint and incorporation of MIPI as an output option make the GMAX4002 the most accessible GMAX sensor to date,” says Wim Wuyts, CCO of Gpixel.
The imager is packaged in a 74-pin CLCC package with outer dimensions 16.6 mm x 12.9 mm and will be available in both Bayer color and monochrome versions.
GMAX4002 engineering samples can be ordered today, for delivery in November 2022. Evaluation kits are also available. For more information, please visit www.gpixel.com or contact us directly at info@gpixel.com.
