About the role We are looking for a Junior Business Development Engineer to strengthen our European team at the interface between business development and technical pre-sales. In this role, you will engage with highly technical customers in industrial, scientific, and professional imaging markets, supporting them from initial engagement through evaluation, design-in, and eventual production ramp. Our business is characterized by long design cycles and strategic customer engagements, requiring a structured, persistent, and technically credible approach. You will combine commercial insight with technical understanding to help translate complex system requirements into successful product adoption. Key Responsibilities Customer engagement & opportunity development - Identify and engage with new prospects and strategic accounts across Europe - Build long-term relationships with engineering, R&D, and product teams - Understand customer applications, system architectures, and performance requirements - Support account development aligned with multi-year design and qualification cycles Technical pre-sales support - Support technical discussions on sensor performance, architecture, and system integration - Work closely with senior BD and applications engineers to define optimal solutions - Assist customers during evaluation phases (characterization, testing, benchmarking) - Translate customer requirements into actionable internal feedback Design-in & sales pipeline management - Support progression of opportunities from first contact through design-in to production ramp - Maintain structured tracking of the sales funnel, including long-term opportunities - Contribute to account strategies for strategic and high-value customers - Support preparation of quotations, business cases, and commercial proposals Internal coordination - Act as interface between customers and internal teams (R&D, applications, product management) - Contribute to technical documentation, application notes, and customer presentations - Support participation in trade shows and product launches

Education & background - Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, optics, or related field - 0–5 years of experience in a technical or commercial role - Strong interest in image sensors, vision systems, or semiconductor technologies Technical & commercial skills - Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts - Structured and analytical mindset - Strong communication skills - Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus Personal attributes - Curious, hands-on, and eager to learn - Customer-focused with persistence and strong follow-up - Comfortable working on long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders - Able to balance technical depth with commercial awareness<
